Good Buy at LOTO
I watch the LOTO real estate market daily and it seems to be in a protected bubble due to the fact that it draws people from a 360 radius and is within a 3 hour drive of multiple high population areas. Then there is the fact that it is so boater oriented and friendly. This is good buy based on what I have seen in the last five years and I doubt it will last long. I have no affiliation with this property or its owner (just passing my observation along).

That house on lake Gaston, NC/VA, border would be $975k. Wish we could buy something like that down here in that price range.

Touched base with your neighbor - can't wait to spend a few days down there in September.

Fujimo,
I have a condo "water front, a house water front, six residential lots across the street from the lake house, another house adjacent to the lots that are opposite of my lake house with a gorgeous lake view, and 11 2 acre commercial lots in a platted industrial park. The taxes on all of them didn't equal my taxes on one of the houses in Florida. When you don't have a bunch people living off of the system, the system can stay small, small systems don't take a fortune to run. Very basic economics that most citizens just don't understand. If you need something, you get it for yourself--You never ask or expect it from the government.
