I just bought a 3.0 ProMax. Help with block ID
I just bought what was represented as a 1999 3.0 liter ProMax It’s a basket case. I knew I was getting a different block but I would like to ID the block. Can I identify the block by it numbers. I also noticed that in the cylinders on the exhaust port there is a small notch that is on the top of the port in the center. I have been told this is to relieve compression when cranking. Do ProMax blocks usually have this notch?

To my knowledge the 300 promax didn't have the relief slots 250s did. My 99 300PMs don't have them

What I have learned is by the block numbers Is it is indeed a ProMax 3.0 block built late in the year 1998.
