Red Rocket has his pork chops working well....

This is as good as gets for a 28 Skater as of now. Kevin and I will be chasing him down at an upcoming run soon.

Cool video. A friend of mine shared it with me a few hours ago. Boat had a nice set. I suspect he'll find a few more MPH's.

This is only going to seem fast until Chaz gets his rig going again. Then we will see what a really fast outboard cat it all about. Rocket has no money limitations, so you can bet that when Mercury comes up with their next product release he will have them and be even faster.

How's that run with the extra weight on the back? That's almost 400 extra pounds of motors hanging compared to my 300X's. Wicked rig.

    Mike,

You can make anything run on flat water. Essentially the gear cases will carry the weight of the motors as long as they are against the water surface, but when you run in real water and the boat flys, balance becomes a strong reality. It will be interesting to see where the limitations of the 28 hull are at with Aero. There will be power and propellers available to push these hulls to the 150 mph mark but at what expense. Jim and Garth wanted to see the 200 mph mark so bad in the 36 and we ended up at funerals for it....

There is no question that the new 4 strokes are pushing boats further and faster then we have ever seen but none of its worth dying for so please be careful as you explore. Coming into waves at 100 and coming into waves at 135 is TOTALLY different-you can ask some of the passengers that were with me.

Great points!!! Exactly why I do not even think about putting a 450 on mine! Having a 300 4 miles out back from my running surface can be less then ideal at times in the snotty stuff.

    No doubt he's a suupppaaastaaaar ..

I'll run him, then we can divide his cost $ 500,000.00 by my cost (junk yard motors) to see what 15 mph costs ..

9.2L's / supercharged vs 6.0L's / naturally aspirated ... I'm still waitin for you and skreemin to put a pair of 3.4L (6.8L) mini-chops on your 24' .. you know .. apples to apples

First day back to work in the new year, grateful your thinkin bout me ...

I think a pair of these will fit under my cowls ...

Too bad it wont last a minute at WOT lol!!!! I am building a LS for my next Tuff, and while I can build a 3500hp LS I do have to keep reality in mind considering the environment and longevity.
