Optimax flywheel dampener
I’ve got a 2010 mercury 250 pro xs, motor is healthy but still lacks some torque on the initial hit out of the hole when pulling heavy skiers. Has anyone removed the flywheel dampener on there 250/300xs to reduce the mass on the flywheel? Is it an easy DIY mod instead of full lightweight flywheel replacement? Or risk causing damage to the crank?
Just chasing some tricks in conjunction with prop/set up to give it a stronger holeshot.
thank you

Ski prop
I have three of those motors but they were the last year of the high compression version, so they have more low end power, they need higher octane.
