    Lee,

Are you getting one? Composite construction or wood? This could fill a void in our current market and would be a hoot with twin 300Rs or a single 450 depending on weight.

After my visit with Jeff last week, I definitely plan on having one. I feel the same way with the void in the market and that's pretty much why nothing has really excited me. I honestly thought I was done but seeing just the plug in person was enough to pull me back in. They still have a week or two of finish work on the plug and then they'll start on the mold. He should be up and running with a build schedule this spring.

To answer a few of the earlier questions:

The plug has never been wet or rigged. It's a hand tooled plug that has taken over 12 months to build and I don't believe that it was built so it could be rigged and run.

Jeff is a boat builder, not a racer so I doubt you'll see him race the boat.

The boat will be all composite and vacuum bag construction. There will be zero wood anywhere in the boat.

Knowing Jeff and his experience, I personally expect it to be a 10....or it wouldn't interest me at all.

Here's the interview I did with Jeff last week. It was a pleasure seeing the progress and just how far it's come.

Exactly what the market is calling for. Would be a steal at his projected price point compared to what others charge. Hope to see one on the water next summer.

I didn't know Jeff was back from the Middle East? Glad to see he's moving forward with this model! He builds a really good boat (I owned one of his 21s), and I agree with what others have already stated - this will be a welcome addition to the performance market! With all the new motors being big, heavy 4 strokes, it really has killed any small (21' and under) performance outboard tunnels. I would think this 23 will work really well with a single 450 and be priced reasonable enough that average guys can afford one. All the larger twin engine cats are so expensive now that they're out of reach for most. My buddy had one of the only 24 Skaters built specifically for a single, and it worked really well with a single 300X (90mph). I would guess this 23 will be a rocketship (120?) with a 450 on it!

Definitely a cool project to watch come time when he builds one out. There are some obvious gaps in the market right now and this is one of them.

love seeing new effort and pushing the envelope . so at 8' 6" beam do you have to have a permit to trailer it
most overnite successes usually take at least 10 years

No, 8' 6" does not require signage, flags or any permits. Once you get over 8' 6" but stay under 12' 0", you're supposed to pull a permit and display a "wide load" sign with flags on the outside corners. However, I've pulled both my 9' 2" wide 30 and 10' 2" wide 36 for several thousand miles without any of it and never had a problem. My opinion is that until you're up around 11' wide, the cops don't really bother you. Whenever I had the 46 transported (11' 10" wide), the tow company always pulled permits and had the "wide load" sign and flags displayed.

Beautiful boat. Love the concept. We need more boats built to go fast with single engines that are made today. Looking forward to seeing it in production.

I have a 86" beam boat now. Its a big boat on the trailer and for towing. I tow all around the country and it takes more concentration to keep it in the lane for sure.

The reason I asked about offshore racing is the start of class UIM C3 on this side of the pond, very popular class in Europe

This boat shoud fit in nicely, with out the center pod.

    Just need a canopy..

sooo ,,, if the wheels of the trailer are wider than the hull ,,, you are into the grey area of the law
