Megasquirt is WAY more complicated than it needs to be. It confused the bell out of me as well. I love that there’s no PC required for this system, that was a such a pain!

Just living the dream my old friend. Still running the Lavey, we spend a lot of time on a house boat we bought about 20 years ago. Fishing in an old 1992 Nitro with a 90 Johnrude and making enemies on a Polaris Virage Ski.
I messaged Sleekster on Faceplace, he is still kicking as well.

As far as the cost, you'd have to contact them directly. This thread isn't trying to sell anything its mainly to show the mods to these motors necessary to bring them into the 21st century or in the case of the Ficht/eTec, to convert them to a more flexible, performance oriented port EFI than the stock DFI. There are a half dozen ECUs out there you could use for these conversions although none have touchscreen control, injector open/close rate control or can integrate the factory charging system. Maybe even more, like flexible map sizes. Some are just so darn complicated and not really born for outboard use like this one.

Anyway... speaking of Ficht eTec, here's some pics of a 250hp Ficht HO being converted to a 12 injector setup (6 main 6 enrichment for NOS) using an eTec front half. The 6 enrichment injectors are used by the ECU when the NOS is turned on for a seamless transition and to allow normal sized injectors to be used on the mains in order to preserve low speed control. I expect this one to be on the water early next year, if I can procure a boat to be able to handle well over 300hp

Don't need these DFI mounts/holes anymore, plug 'em. I'm actually a big fan of DFI but there's simply no way to run NOS with them and use them as enrichment as well. So you would end up with hoses going everywhere using the archaic on/off style solenoids in those kits for gas.
