Should I install bypass gaskets dry?

I'm replacing the bypass gaskets on a V4 crossflow after having checked the rings. I have genuine gaskets from Crowley. They look like ordinary grey paper gaskets. The original ones seemed thicker and were black and more rigid or maybe they were just very old. I have cleaned off all of the old gasket and cleaned both mating surfaces with wax and grease remover. Should I just install the gasket dry or should I smear a bit of 2 stroke oil on it? I know they say dry for carb and inlet manifold gaskets.

Looking at the new gaskets again they look pretty much the same as the ones I that were in the powerhead gasket kit I regrettably bought from Aliexpress last year. Definitely looks like inferior quality to the original gaskets.
