Anyone here install a 15 inch mid on 22 activator ?
I have 1991 22 ft activator in which i'm installing new stringers and transom . I have a 300xs 20 inch . I have 2 new 15 inch mids and new 15 inch lower. Has anyone here attempted this ? Since i'm going to be filling in motor well I figure maybe I have to shorten area where motor mounts . Also I have new seastar 6 inch hyd jackplate. Thoughts ?

id try it out, i mean i always jacked mine up and that was a 20 so maybe it has to mount a little lower on the transom, do you have a notched bottom?

I would do a lot of measuring first and see how it runs with a 20 and what height it likes above the pad. Getting a big jack plate down low on a transom can catch a lot of water and slow you down too....or at least I would think so. This is something I would hold off on doing till you maximized the combo to its last couple of MPH. Too many throw the book at it and never get the setup happy and see how much potential there is with a relatively simple inexpensive combo.

I had a 1990 white 22' Activator years ago which I redid the stringer work on and lightened the front weight by taking some stringers out. If you do some research on here you might find all about what I did and how it worked out. They are not very light in nature. i had to run about a 20" setback lift plate on it to run it the best. With a 300 yami it ran about 85-86.4
mph. Good luck on yours.1990 22' Activator Yami HPDI 300-sold-86.4

Thanks for the reply . Did your 1990 have a drop in cockpit liner ? If so did you replace the stringers and if yes how did you cut loose the inner liner and will it come out of the boat in one piece ?
Thanks
