Easiest way to use ddt on engine off boat

Picked up a Rinda DDT and it works well however I have 5 or 6 engines on stands that I would like to verify hours before I sell them . Question, what is the best / easiest/ safest method to power up an engine in order for the DDT to operate ?

    Thanks
    Larry

I have done compression test on a pallet, by hooking battery cables up, and plugging in mercury control box with integrated ignition switch. Probably easier ways, like powering up the purple wire in engine harness.

About 2 minutes to remove cowl, hook jumper cables, and engine harness to remote control harness. All while your laptop is booting up.

I'm guessing your just looking for ignition power? If you want something that fits in your pocket, here you go.
    12.6v 3 cell 2200mah lipo battery.
    2 deans connectors.
1 bullet connector for purple wire in cannon connector.
    1 alligator clip for ground.
A little elbow grease, 3' wire, solder, and iron.

Thank you very much , your very smart guy indeed . I was thinking more on something like this , I have **** load extra harnesses so I cut one to say 10 ft , plug into engine , grab the purple and the ground hook up 12 v lawn tractor battery and done ? Will that work ? Only concern I have is say the positive had loose connection could maybe spike the ecu ?

    Thanks

I think smart is a overstatement maybe persistent.
That would work great if you have a doner harness. A jump box would also work.
You get a little arcing on the big jobs. Just try to keep it isolated to ground on engine block.

so dont use a ground in the harness ? Just use the purple out of harness and run that to positive and separate ground from battery to block ?

You could use ground in harness, or not. I just wouldn't recommend arcing your harness plug or battery. Probably not a big deal, unless your battery explodes in your face. You could put a switch, or sacrificial plug in one of the wires, or use a alligator clip to block for ground.
