    You can take it apart and scrub the armature copper with sandpaper to clean it up a bit, too

    I just had starter problems too. Turned over slow at the ramp, then wouldn't start when hot. Burned up 2 starters before I changed my battery cables. I tested and found I had 1.5 volts drop through the cables. Bought some 2 gauge battery cable and lugs and made up my own. Now the drop is 0.5 volts.
