what size head gaskets
guys 1993 v6 2.5 200 carbs after rebuild i discovered my heads maybe shaved too much so could i go to a thicker head gasket and what size now useing stock size comp nos are 135 to 142 range all cylinders thanks for advice

Thats the 1.2 mm head gasket.
But...you may already have that on your engine. Your compression numbers are not too high for 91 octane. If you are worried about it then turn the timing down to 23 btdc on cylinder #1. You will be good.

They made a 1.5mm gasket also. Pretty hard to find nowadays. It would lower you a bit, but probably not worth the search effort.

With those compression numbers should be fine running 91-93 premium fuel.

Yes. 1.5 mm head gasket is 27-840322 and they are backordered from mercury rn.

I would think a healthy starter and battery, would spin that engine over no problem. I know my 2.5 at 130lbs, in sub freezing weather, has no problems, even with a group 24 battery.
I have stock heads if you want to trade.

Sounds like you have a starter, battery, or voltage drop issue. nothing to do with compression.

Funny thing even the promax powerheads are now pictured with the diverters
Part 38 = 2 pieces of 1,5 inches and 2 pieces of 1,25 inches

thanks again guys batterys are new all 12 volt stuff new im useing 2 batterys for stating but at times the starter drags a little then kicks in will try another starter maybe buy new one cheers
