The boat was only rated for a 150, so I suppose both scenarios make sense. I’m really not sure exactly what was done to it at Reynold racing, but I don’t believe it’s all stock. It has a pretty nasty cackle to it, and is pretty loud. I’m assuming there was some tuner/exhaust work done at minimum. A little 17V
really isn’t a great boat to say that I believe it puts out more than 200HP, but it would about jump out of the water with the 27RE , nose hop one time, stick , and put you firmly in the seats well into 70’s, before acceleration slowed. I miss that boat tremendously. I was actually on my way to a family member’s house that had an empty garage, to start restoring it. Thank you for the info. I’m going to get some pics up soon of the complete motor, so you all can tell me what it’s worth. Ballpark. Thank you S&F !!!

I can vouch for this. Because this is exactly my situation… only… I’m the one who is doing it. My boat has had a 2.0/150 for years, but the top two holes are low on compression and fast on leak. It still runs well that way but knowing it has been bugging me. So I found a power head that is a 2.4/200 that will bolt right on while I rebuild the original 150. On top of that, my 2.4/200 has a November 1990 block and heads, while the rest of the dressing is from the mid-'80's such as 16A charging system. So if I were to sell it right now, it would be just what Saugs has described
