Can't say for sure. Michael Dixon got a hold of it nearly 30 yrs. ago. He was told it was made by Randy Pierson and that it was a prototype, or one off, at that time. Dixon ran it, Caldwell ran it, and when they both got out of racing Michael loaned it to me. Someone is making one that looks very similar now. Saw one for sale last week on FB that looked very much like it.
I'll try to get a good pic of it and post it tonight or tomorrow.

My guess would be that wheel came from either Todd Bucknell from Hydromotive or The Johnson bros. Randy as far as I know didn't do much on props other than tweak the pitch here and there... Between screwing over most of his customers. I have a 4 blade from him that has different length and pitch on every blade. It's my doorstop/ reminder to watch out for crooks. Only hit my toe on it once. @mikesufka You got any keepsakes?
@AlliStan My first time out on my XTB was buying it the weekend of opening fishing. I was all over the place, and the lake was full of fishermen watching this **** show. Guys I knew we're laughing their asses off watching this. Took me a minute, (maybe a couple minutes) but got it running on a string. Then they all wanted rides.

Actually I am. This will be the slowest Allison I have ever owned. And yes it is the red one.

Allistan,
Do you know the brand. pitch and diameter of the 5 blade you mentioned?
[QUOTE=AlliStan;3364620]I'm running my "repurposed" XTB with a 240, right now. It turns a 28 chopper, Lightning ET, or the 5 blade that's on it right now, really good and is basically a 87-90 mph boat with either of the three. However, the 5 blade drives like a dream. It makes that Allie so stable she just sits there like a STV. I'm loving it.

I don't know the diameter or the brand, Scott. Dixon says it's a 28 pitch, but there is no markings on it at all. See post #48 above for more info about it's history.
I'm going to take pics of it tomorrow morning and post them here. Was hoping to take them this evening but I didn't get home from the peanut fields until nearly 7:30, so it'll have to be tomorrow morning at the earliest. Kinda tired.
Funny story about it. Matthew Caldwell and Michael Dixon were fierce competitors, but great friends. One day Matthew was at Michael's and they went for a ride in Michael's Euro. He had this 5 blade on it and Caldwell pointed out to him all the reasons it shouldn't work on that boat. They went for a ride and Matthew asked Dixon how fast they went. Dixon answered something like "112". Caldwell asked to borrow the prop and it stayed with him for years! He loved it. I may have a couple of minor details wrong but that's the basic gist of it.Last edited by AlliStan; 10-18-2022 at 07:32 PM.

Last I saw it, that one dude that was flipping Allison's (figuratively not literally) picked it up. I think he put it back to center steer. It's been awhile, you know how these boats move around. It's probably in Finland or China by now. That was a fun boat, even my 200xs got it into the high 90's with my dumbass driving it. With a bone stock, fat ECU 260, still rolled 100 like nothin, and got there fast. Like I said earlier, a CF XB2002 with a drag would be my first lotto purchase. Darris probably wouldn't do it. Have to buy an old xb2002 as a mold for a mold, and have Jack Barsh build it incognito.

That yellow 02 Bass Racer was so bad ass - Pierson hung that drag on it. I took it for a spin on a few occasions - “the good ol’ days”

Well, here's the pics of the 5 blade I got from Michael Dixon. I hadn't looked at it too closely but didn't remember seeing any markings on it, but I was wrong about that. I cleaned it up a little this morning to snap pics and there are three markings on it. RP, for Randy Pierson evidently ....... 96, for the year it was made, probably, since Michael said he's had it nearly 30 years ....... and the pitch, which is stamped 26. Michael believes it runs closer to 28 than 26, however. I don't argue with him over stuff like that. He's forgotten more about props than I'll ever know.
Gonna probably have it cleaned up this winter if I keep it to run. Got some little nicks.
