On extremely spotty cell connection now. Looks like no man’s land from WW1. I’m not exaggerating. So much damage everywhere. Power and water out for the next 4-6 weeks. I had to leave to stay in a hotel. This is by far the worst I’ve been through. Prayers and thoughts to all of you dealing with the same. I’ll post more later if I can.

Got a call last night at 9:30 that the power was restored at condo on Ponce Inlet. 19" of rain. My neighbor said all the dunes along the ocean are gone, all stairways to the ocean wiped out. Fishing dock that went into the intracoastal knocked out, sections missing. He said I will be amazed at the changes when I get back down there. Condo structure held up good. We had the late effects of the storm up here in NC yesterday (Friday) from approx 1pm until after we went to bed at 11 last night. This morning just light rain and wind is gone. One heck of a storm. The insurance industry already penalized FL coverages, just gonna get worse now. Cant imagine what all the snowbirds are going to do with upcoming plans to winter down there. The estimate I saw in a news story of damage was $40Billion

Another Storm - FEMA
A lot of damage and flooding are in areas not even mapped by FEMA. Another shock wave that's coming will be FEMA $$$ will be paid to property owners but only if they build somewhere else. I don't expect some places that were completely wiped out will ever be rebuilt if at all?

Damn, sounds like when Laura hit us in 2020. I had to stay at my brothers house in Houston for 5 weeks. Luckily, he has a really nice house.
Looks like y'all got hit with water really bad, on top of the wind. Wish I could help out but I'm not in a position to.
Hope everyone's life gets back to normal ASAP and the ins. companies take care of everything without any hassle.-----------------------

The New Smyrna house is flooded, house in Astor is fine. We are up at the lake enjoying 75 degree weather and boating everyday but next week I will have to make a run South and face reality. Paul is good and is coming back up here soon. We won't be running the St. Johns for a while with all that has to filter through its system. I don't mean to make light of what we lost but its nothing compared to all of the people whose lives have been uprooted and or lost on the West coast "things could always be worse".
