Prayers to our brothers in Fla!
Was just relating to a cracker ass brother down there with y’all, I was going through boxes the other day and found newspapers I forgot I had saved.
From 2004 when I was down there for hurricane Charlie.
Saved every Fort Myers newspaper for a week.
Front pages were catastrophic!
As I was telling my friend, my dad used to teach weather so I was recording any weather updates from the local TV news station. 15 seconds at a time.
Thought it be cool to give the old man once I got back up into Ohio.
I’ll never forget the look in the news anchors eyes when he said, it made a turn, was headed for Cape Coral, and if you hadn’t evacuated yet it was too late!
30 seconds later the poser went out.
You couldn’t make it up!
Then 3 days or no power and marshal law!
You guys be careful, we all know your bad asses but be smart and protect your families!
Prayers your way and batten down the hatches, here it comes.I'd rather be competitive w/junk I built in my garage than win w/stuff I bought.
I refuse to allow common sense to interfere w/my boat buying decisions.

Funny Charlie story, my client had a house on the beach in Naples so he took his wife to relatives house inland on RT 17 then went back to beach house to hold down the fort, well Charlie stayed offshore by Naples, but took a hard right into Punta Gorda and up RT 17 and crushed the house she was in for safety
I sure hope it passes Naples like Charlie did.We have invented the world; WE see

They are forecasting a huge storm surge for some areas. One forecast for Tampa said the highest in 100 years.
Prayers for y'all.

Looks like eye is coming onshore south of Sarasota so they (tampa) will prob get a suck out again and be spared. Fort Myers, Bonita springs and south of should get the onshore wind though.
PS. I would advise anybody in Florida to use Ventusky.com and run the models there and use the time slider, they get the updated tracks as fast as released by NWS and apply them. MSM reports not so much

I assume Greg is out of power & water but not sure about that, but my aunt was taken back to cape coral tues night from ft Myers beach by her sons and they are without power & water in cape coral now. I felt terrible sending her photos this afternoon of ft myers & Sanabel Island off the tv. The Sanabel causeway itself is destroyed in many sections. Looks like ft Myers beach was carpet bombed. Just terrible. They might get out there tonight to see what's left of her property.

Yeah from the videos it looks like total devastation in any of Fort Myers close to the river, Fort Myers Beach, Sanibel, Captiva etc.
A lot of the same people went through it 18 years ago with Charlie when I was down there.
I can’t even imagine doing it a second time.
Charlie was a much smaller storm too.
Same strength, some even reported 170 mile an hour winds for Charlie but a narrow path of destruction.
This is just massive.
It looks like the videos of the Ukraine!
Continuous prayers Coming Your way Fellers!I'd rather be competitive w/junk I built in my garage than win w/stuff I bought.

Collecting bodies out of the gulf so the news reports say. Blackhawk helicopters searching and coast guard sending out boats. power poles snapped off it’s incredible even for a old timer that’s been through many storms
