Hydrostream Vegas prop choice ?!
Setup is a Hydrostream Vegas , Johnson 115v4 (underpowered I know) , 10inch setback jackplate .. currently running a small ear chopper 24p running 55-58 at about 5200rpm .. is something that’s better looking to get some more mph out of it ?.

Before spending money on a new prop, I would get rid of the jackplate, find a lightweight battery & aluminum anchor.
Weight is your enemy with that amount of power.

I thought the rule of thumb was less power more setback? Try a 24 Raker.

You could try a 22 and spin it higher. Mine liked to run around 5800-6100 and i gained speed by dropping pitch and letting it wind out a but more. 115 crossflow

If you're getting 58 mph with a 115, don't waste any time or money messing with it. You can knock yourself out and get to 59. You can run a performance boat on a shoe string but you gotta have the right shoes. Anything you invest in this setup will be obsolete when you get some decent power. Shop your ass off for a cheap 200, this is the time of year to do it. And replace the core in that Hydrostream.

I always think it’s cool to max out the speed on an ‘underpowered’ rig. I have read about a few 115 HP 20’ Allisons.
Try a 20 and a 22 Raker. Cheap enough to buy and you can always sell later

As usual Tstand is correct but it sure is fun wringing out a crossflow. Addictive motors
