Brad, When electric cars are equally priced with today’s automobiles and can be recharged as quickly as petroleum automobiles, abundant number of charging stations, overall performance equal two or better than petroleum vehicles. Customers will probably be lined up to purchase electric vehicles.

As far as EV boat records, same thing goes for them, just like cars. Just my humble opinion.

Don't forget the weight of the transmission, my brother bought a Model S 6 years ago and a few months ago placed a order on the Lucid Air GT version, (before the price increase) he will be lucky to get it by next summer, they are finding out how hard it is to scale up, just like the solid state battery's
three company's HAVE working batteries but It will take two years to see them in cars, they have to design the machines, to make the battery machines, trouble shoot ... very difficult.
In my brothers case he said after selling his S twin motor big battery and the discounts with the Tax credits, he believes It will cost him next to nothing for the new Lucid Air.
My brother does free law work for the Democratic party and Musk has been pissing him off lately

Judging by your S&F name I’d guess you are an American muscle car fan. A period correct unsychronized Jerico four speed or a sync’d Super T10, for that car is under 75lbs.

I’ve been hearing that “two more years” mantra from the SSB crowd since 2010.

Thst said, NIO thinks they will have theirs available for consumer use by “fourth quarter 2022”, which by my estimates is… a lot sooner than two years. You sound pretty confident above… What do you think?

Musk has delayed the Semi and Cybertruck because of the batteries, he needs the solid state to fulfill his promises...

The Semi as is now is only a short haul, city truck, until the next step, like twice todays power, It's service is limited.

But the cool thing about them is low end grunt power, no smoke or noise, prefect city truck.

I was a Cuda fan from very first year, glass fast back, room for the snow ski's

I got my older sister to buy a new 1970 purple Duster 340 4 speed

I had my own set of keys, she lived at home still, she was a RN working 12 hr. shifts

Street racing was common in the 60's and 70's, so was hitch hiking...

You are correct Mr. K, if I remember correctly 1970 was the first year for the Cuda. I know a little bit about Cuda’s I owned a 70 and a 72.

Yes 1970 was a complete redesign from the 1969. I remember they offered some type of Cuda trim package in 1969. If I remember correctly the earlier barracudas were similar to a Plymouth valiant only with a fastback. However my memory is not so good anymore.

Technically you could call a 70 Cuda a Barracuda from the Barracuda family, but it was badged "Cuda" with new E-body , when youre talking Glass back that was the Barracuda the end period. I was just picking on Mr Cuda, maybe he meant to name himself Barracuda this whole time ?

I did pick up on the CUDA correction. I’m sure down deep inside Mr. CUDA is a real swell guy.

Ill never forget the Cuda because in 9th grade the circle of kids i paled around with, one (anthony) was left a pretty rare (2500 built for trans am racing) 1970 AAR 340 Cuda from his uncle that had passed away. Car was just gorgeous cond, black on black, 6 pack on a 340 ! 4 spd , we used to stand around it in his moms garage at least once a month and drool, We were at least two yrs away from even getting a permit to drive. Car was partially disassembled so he wasn't tempted. Wonder where the car is today

The good ole days. I had a 70 Cuda with a 426 Hemi. I purchased a 72 with a 340 then I purchase a 426 and dropped it in. Then I learned it wasn’t really that simple to just drop it in. My thoughts were to save on the insurance premium.

Sounds like Musky has been increasing his grip on reality over the past year or so. Refreshing in an era full of hucksters like pretty much anybody who thinks Air Canada bought electric airliners or anyone selling battery powered planing hull boats.

Still not convinced that SSB’s are ready for prime time. The technology has been around since the 1800’s and as of ten years ago, and SSB for a road car would cost $75-80 MILLION dollars just for one car. And they were so fragile that the slightest bump would ruin them. Combine that with the fact that they have been “just two years away” for the last 12 years and well you can color me skeptical. Hope I’m wrong though. You seem to be on the “two years away” bandwagon yourself. There is some word salad played by hucksters where they are calling “cathode gelling in-situ” technology by SSB. It isn’t.

So when you read about SSB, do yourself a favor and make sure you aren’t being played. Today’s desperate BEV evangelism is creating fertile ground for hucksters selling false hope to desperate believers.

    ===

Torque is always useful but smoke is a ruse as is noise. Modern cars and trucks don’t smoke* unless they are damaged, and today’s drive by noise standards are so strict, companies like BMW are piping fake engine noise into the cabin through the stereo system, (and even lamer, you can’t turn it off unless you hack their network and void your warranty).

*Oh, and smoke is not a greenhouse gas. So whenever you visit a pro-global warming site or view pro global warming media, when you see smoke stacks or when they photoshop fake smoke onto modern car tailpipes, that is a clue that you are being played.

That’s a tech-free clickbait article that tells us nothing, mate. Lack of relevant tech is signpost of clickbait, even in a supposed financial article.
