It seems strange that we didn't allow any of our long range weapons to be used and or instructional information given for the use against Ukraine until they have one foot out the door.

Trumps is an expert at making threats that the suckers believe so before he has to make law or take any action the enemy has already been forced to change.

I wish Noli wouldn't have shared his login with Cuda....Everything will end up in a better position with respected business minded leadership running this country. Trump has the knowledge this time to appoint people who are loyal and will help him move at a much faster pace then he did as the 45th POTUS.
Happy Thanksgiving to everyone "we all have so much to be thankful for"-everyday we are able to live is a gift and not a given right--understand that and make the most of it with family and friends.

It’s probably the wrong day to discuss politics.
But I can make one non controversial point. I don’t know anything about Mr Cohen in Noli’s video above, but he is surely wrong about Canada becoming isolationist.
Enjoy your Thanksgiving. When I was working in the US, it was always a day with ribs and football for me.

The left ran on nothing. The view asked Kumla what she would have done different over the last four years .. she said she would change nothing. I don't need to go into all the epic failures that has happened over the last four years .. but it's the main reason Trump won by a landslide.
The left hasn't come to grips with that. The AP, MSDNC, CNN, all the same mouthpiece saying the same thing. All of it anti Trump. It didn't work before the election, their word's mean even less now.
Trump can say he wants 1000% tariff until the illegal migration and fentanyl stops. As in any deal, he can settle for any number on the scale less. Once a deal is made, it's harder to ask for more. At least he's looking out for the American people. The idiots that are in there now, could care less. How anyone can call themselves an American and not want what's best for our country should go live in Russia or N. Korea.
All he ever wanted from any other country is for them to clean up their act as a neighbor and / or to even up the playing field when it comes to trade.
Don't let your TDS get in the way of those two simple facts.

People aren't listening (or thinking). Most of the "tariffs" will never be paid.
If you tell John Deere there will be tariffs on any farm equipment they make in Mexico... they won't move production to Mexico and nobody will pay the tariff.
If you tell China we're putting a 25% tariff on Chinese automobiles... the Chinese will reduce/remove their tariffs on American cars to prevent that; so nobody actually pays the tariff.

Except that all sorts of stuff is crossing the borders already and would be subject to the tariffs. I know the car business, and it's no simple thing to move a tool to another supplier. (1) Find and qualify the new supplier. (2) Build a duplicate tool or build enough parts to keep production going while the tool is being moved. (3) Run validation testing on the parts from the new supplier. Huge amounts of parts cross the borders daily and some parts cross the border multiple times as they are made into sub assemblies.
I sort of get 25% on Mexico, to counteract the lower wages there. I don't get the 25% on Canada as (1) our wages are similar to US wages (2) The US has a manufactured part trade surplus with Canada and is the US's largest export market. I really don't get 25% on the neighbors, who are pretty friendly, and 10% on the Chinese who are a threat. Maybe it's all negotiation tactics. Panic mode here. Economists predict Canada's GDP would drop over 2% with the tariffs. And perhaps that is the idea. Get us to panic.
Just putting tariffs on China and Mexico won't stop companies from sourcing parts in low wage countries. In the first Trump administration a lot of suppliers moved from China to Vietnam and other low wage countries. it could be wack a mole for a long time.Last edited by David; 11-29-2024 at 08:42 PM.

Sounds like you need to understand Trumps intent a little better. "If cars are not made in the U.S., they will face tariffs that level the playing field or that specific manufacture will have to open manufacturing facilities in the U.S." There is a reason Toyota and Honda produce so much product in the U.S. (life if easy when you play nice inside the market that you want to occupy). They employ roughly 100,000 people, (not including nearly 65,000 outside jobbers who are supported by them), and are planning to expand after seeing the recent election results. Toyota will increase its battery production in the U.S. as they continue to develop more hybrid options across their entire product line.
