1989 220hp Laser Pump not working..

Hi I installed an after market high pressure pump and it is not pumping. the pump is marked - and + and not sure which wire goes where. if I swap them will I do damage?? i USED A SQUIRT OF STARTER FLUID AND THE ENGINE FIRED SO i KNOW IT IS FUEL PUMP RELATED, Plus I have good compression. I bought this motor 15 years ago and was super clean and finally trying to get it to run, I am feeding the pump with a Holley red electric fuel pump and have pressure and gas to the High Pressure Pump??? and have 12v voltage to both leads.. confused... maybe it is a bad pump. also if I replace the High Pressure Pump where do I get them these days?? Thank you!!

Thanx Texas pump came right to life. had to stop .. going back to it in the am. phSicked to fire this off !! Place a Blue Cloud of Premix !!!
