Thanks mate. I guess you can add me to the list of "victims" of Mercury's shoddy record keeping on carbs. Neither Crowley or marineengine.com show the WH-22 for ANY 2.4/200's.

Tell me about WH-46's... Did they end up in use on the 2.5/200 after a short run on the 2.4/200?

The 46s were on 2.4 200s also. Both carbs work well on 2.5 motors when jetted properly. Lot of racers used them.

The only 2.5 200 carb worth messing with is wmv-18

Dont forget that 2.4 200s also used WH-18s lol. Dang engineerds were on one back then HAHA! I think the 2.4L was always just an experiment in power to weight ratios until they figured out that the fat block (2.5L) was the ticket. You think getting info on 22s is hard? Try asking about 18s lol! Crickets. I know several guys that run 22s on HIPO 2.5L though. They call them big barrels compared to other WH bodies because the throat is larger. Pretty sure 20s are the same. I do always keep going back to try tuning WMV-18s but always give up and put the 46s back on. Maybe the WH-18 bodies can perform. We will see.

The SST 120 motors came with 46's with baffles and slosh tubes(except the later ones with the pumper carbs). Great carbs

Any issues with picking out the correct sized carb gaskets? I have some from my 150 that are a little small in the main holes. I was thinking of cutting them out a little bigger. :shrugs:

Reason I ask is that neither Crowley or marineengine, do they even acknowledge the existence of the WH-22.

that sounds right. Mine is November 1990 block. But Dressed with 1983 2.4/200 everything else… including dispensing with the 40A water alternator, replaced with 16A

WH20 & 15's have the cast #1386-7598 considered Lg bore and came on the 81 225 7 pedal fishin motor.

WH22 & 46's and I think all Wh carbs that came from mother Merc 150-200's had the cast #1374-5427.

The 135hp Black Max fishing motors came with the smaller venturi carbs to make them a 135. Don't have cast #'s

My roundy round boat started with I think Wh27 because they came on my 2L.
Went to Wh46's because I found a set that had slosh tubes once I figured out, I wasn't turning hard enough.
Venturis are the same size don't quite understand holes in the butterfly's, probably for idling or initial acceleration.

Try your 22's against another set and lets us know if you can tell the difference.

So I just ordered a set of WH-46's from the Canadian who had a really clean looking set of them off eBay. They were taken off a 2.5/200. I plan to use them on my 1990 2.4/200, which apparently also used WH-46's.

What is the likelihood that they both use the same jetting?

Also, is there anything else I should look out for in using these on my 2.4/200 since they came off a 2.5/200?
