    medicine costs

As many of you know I have some health issues and am on several medicines. Today I refilled a script and was charged $532 for the same pills a friend of mine gets for $10. Retail on this little jewel is over $2400 so my insurance did pay a lot but if they can sell the pill for $10 why does it have to cost $2400. I will contact the manufacturer and try to get the same discount card he has and hopefully be able to continue using this medicine as it is a really good drug that has made a significant difference. With probably hundreds of thousands people using this drug can you imagine the money this company is profiting? I'll quit whining now.

Best of luck it's a jungle out there, because of my wife's constant issues

She gets a $15,000. treatment every two weeks and goes to 6 different doctors so we had to get supplemental ins.

    AARP Medicare Supplement plan K

and AARP Medicare RX to keep from going broke.

For the first time, Medicare would be allowed to negotiate prices for prescription drugs.
Under the bill, Medicare would negotiate the cost of up to 10 retail drugs beginning in 2026. By 2029, Medicare's bargaining power would expand to 20 retail and 20 doctor-administered drugs. The bill would save the federal government an estimated $288 billion over the next decade.

My wife is coping with a huge list of weird diseases. We have hit several prescriptions that cost many hundreds of dollars on our Medicare Part D prescription plan, or just weren't covered. She has gotten real good at shopping GoodRX. Sad to have to do that when we are supposedly insured.

What the hell is wrong with you people?????? Obama and Mommy Pelosi fixed health care!!!!! She marched down the street with her monster gavel and did everything except yank up her skirt(Thank God) over her BIG SUCCESS!!!!!!!

There is NO problem....LIBERAL ASSHOLES FIXED IT ALL !!!!!!!!!

I told everybody 15 years ago, if you think health care is expensive now....just wait till it's free.

Gotta shop around like Li'l Toy said. I've switched pharms before and had the new one try and charge more. Had to tell them the old place charged "x" and they matched it. They will gouge you whether you can afford it or not.

It seems like "Sam's Club" beats everyone else around here for drug prices. I think you can punch in your zip code & medicine and get a price. Not sure if this will help, but: https://www.samsclub.com/pharmacy/rxsavings

Let's just go ahead and make America great again!

If it makes you feel any better I just had surgery #13 and spent 8 days total in 3 different hospitals; 7 of those days in 2 diff. hospitals in New Orleans.
Boy o' boy I can't wait until those bills start rolling in.

Got a PICC line in my arm and will be on IV antibiotics 24hrs. a day for the next 9 months. All because that tumor I had 2yrs. ago messed up my sinus cavity and a simple sinus infection infected my one good eye. Now I have to be extra careful with sinus infections and there's an extra danger because it's close to my brain.
Luckily, I don't have a huge brain so I'm not sure how much danger it's in.

That really sucks. I'll pray for you. It seems there are always instances of feeling bad being overshadowed by someone else's condition. I may have some issues but I thank God every day for what I have cuz when i look around I see it could be way worse. I also consider those that have passed and just how lucky I really am to still be here whining. Very sobering.

Thank you and Paul for the prayers.

rock, I'm not trying to discount your situation. You are going through a tough time; no doubt.

One of the things that helps me to not get bogged down is I know there are others in worse situations than I am in.
It doesn't mean we aren't in tough situations that we have to deal with. It just helps keep things in perspective a little bit.

I did not think that for a second. We all have our issues. Close friend for many years and an avid hunter/fisherman sent me a picture of a deer he had killed and the the shot to the heart could not have been more perfect. That was at 4:00 pm. At 5:00 pm his wife sent me a text that Rich was in the hospital after falling out of a tree while hunting and had been hurt bad. Since I had seen the picture an hour earlier I called and asked how he could be hurt so bad after he had cleaned the deer. Turns out his buddy stopped by and whined he never sees a deer so Rich took him to his hunting spot and placed him in his regular tree stand. He then climbed a tree near him but says he blacked out and fell then was flown out of the timber by life flight and will spend the rest of his life in a wheel chair. This man had a Down's child and his 40 something wife has been diagnosed with early onset dementia and Alzheimer's. When I look at his situation, I feel guilty for even thinking about mine.
