Rgsauger asked how many damned boats I have ... LOL

Five. Though I barely deserve to post on S&F because I have never gone faster than 60mph in a boat I was driving. I never even had a boat until the Obama recession got going and people started shedding toys like there was no tomorrow. Then I jumped in with both feet. Two of them were $1000 or less. Haven't bought a boat since 2012.

Viper. Raised transom. Restored by previous owner. Needs a LWP but I don't have one. Wife hates it the same way wives hate sports cars. Will probably play with it a few more times and then sell it:

Whaler 17 (1998, last year of the classic hull form):

    Whaler 13:

Family recreational boat (Bahner 18 from when CA still allowed small boutique boat building):

1968 (not a typo) Sportline 16 (Also from the boutique boat building era in SoCal. Hand laid, dual stringers, the old-timer who built it reached out to me here, it was neat to "meet" him. They ended up going out of business because the owner of the company refused to chopper gun, and couldn't compete any more). 1975 factory high compression bubble back V4 crossflow. Got 55 mph out of it with just me. The hull is too far gone now. It has a slow leak about half a gallon an hour, and the transom is toast. Now that I have small kids, I just can't fix it. I'm going to take the motor off and sell it separately, and trash the hull

I have a thing for classic Whalers, even though they aren't particularly fast. :shrugs:
