    You saved a lot of money by saving that crank. All joking aside, that was a pretty impressive melt down bud. How many rpms and what kind of compression caused that? Curious minds need to know.

    I'm helpin him out. I have a block for him, we will use his crank and I have a new set of pistons on order. Gonna build him a 2002 efi F block 200 with his dressings. I didn't wanna build a fishin motor but he sure had bad luck with this one. Looks like they left some old needle bearings in the engine and they got sucked up and busted the sides of the pistons. Two cylinders had needle bearings in them and it didn't seem like any were missing in the whole rotating assembly tat was together

    I just tore down a 260 that melted #2 ...the dude got it re started after it melted and ran it home 12 miles on 5 cyliders doing 85 mph! (rapid craft riot). Even his melted piston did look as bad as Bob's

    ok heres the story;
    launched at daybreak,fired right up as ususal,warmed it up and made a 15 min run at around 5000rpms to first spot,fished for an hour and decided to hit another spot about 15 mins away.might have been some small power loss about halfway but nothin more throttle took care of.stopped and fished for about 15 mins and fired back up to move again and got halfway on plane and power went to **** and it died.niether me or my partner heard anything that would justify this damage.but i knew it was over. theres no can in the mid so its pretty loud. thankfully i had replaced all 3 trolling motor batteries the day before.started our 4 hr journey back to the ramp on the trolling motor. i obviously missed something that should have told me it was self destructing but............thankfully i have jacob,im more appreciative than he knows, but he will when hes done with it.

    compression was only 135lbs and like i said, tryin to get on plane but motor was typically ran at 6400

    There is no shame in going home on the trolling motor. Been there, done that. maybe more than once. Lol.
