Hydromotive props

How are the bravo looking through hub props compared to real bravo's? Are they better, as good, not as good or it depends?

I f you go Hydromotive, they can tune it for your specific application

I get that, but what I'm wondering is how are they as far as speed compared to a Bravo FS or XS? Are they faster? The same, slower? etc. etc. Everyone I know either runs a Bravo or a Promax.

My boat runs great all of the way around with a 25" bravo xs. A touch underpropper with the new 300r when the boat is light.....did 75.1 at 6400.......with a 28 promax I did 77 mph at 6230 and had a teeny bit left in it I think, but as soon as I put my 120 lb wife in the boat (no other changes), the promax would only do 72.3 mph....... also getting on plane and turning the promax likes to cavitate a little. I only got 75 mph with a 26" promax and a 27" labbed trophy......my boat seems to really like the 15.25" diameter of the bravo over the 14.5" trophy and promax's. I have a 27" bravo XS on order for when the boat is light to try that, but they're back ordered until October. Im just wondering if I should try another brand prop etc.

Boat is a 20' Lake and Bay backwater flats boat with 10" bobs, 300r torquemaster, but has 2 10' blade powerpoles, 1 agm starting battery, 2 lithium TM batteries and a trolling motor. These numbers are with the trolling motor off, but everything else in the boat.

I would check to see how much hook you have. This is a non pocket boat?

No hook that I can see/tell. It's a pad boat with a pocket hull.

What I'm wondering is if there should be other brands of props I should be trying, besides Mercury.......maybe BBlades or Hydromotive or.

Hydromotive is a stern lifting propeller. Generally, Hydros like cleavers lift stern. Round ear like Bravo props lift bow. It sounds like you have a lot of weight hanging off transom. 10" Bracket and 2 power poles.

My Fountain likes Hydromotives. It does not like Bravo ones. Try everything you can get your hands on.

Have you run a MAD EFI four blade? They work well on many applications. The blade profile is very similar to a Pro-ET and has less width at the tips then a Bravo. The other prop that has worked well for me on the 4.6L motors is a Hill 5 blade thru-hub. Both come on plane with very little slip.
