    Cat on Lift Question

I'm in the process of getting a dock and lift for my 30 Spectre. My boat trailer hangs the boat from the tunnel. Do I need to do the same thing on a boat lift or can it rest on the sponsons like a pontoon? I ask because they want another $3500 for custom bunks.

Can you get it to pick the boat up from the spray rail?

I choose to lift like my trailer from the tunnel. I have seen cradles and trailers carrying on spray rails. I was afraid it would be harder to position while loading and didn't want to risk chewing up corner edges on bottom.

...if it was a v-bottom, the lift would come with long bunks at an angle. boat drives right on. the long bunks for a tunnel, boat drives right on, are an up charge? interesting...

I got the bunk kit and the side guides for my Eliminator Daytona. Worked great, supported the boat just like the trailer. Easy to drive on lift. and protected the sponsons.

    Cat on Lift Question

    PlumCrazy

I vote for the tunnels as well. I have had my Craftlander lift for about 15 years and I had 5 different tunnel hulls on it with no issues. I also used it for my Malibu Response by simply changing the bunks. I just duplicated the bunk layout from my trailer to get the right spacing. I use wide enough boards fit inside the tunnels and measure the maximum width of the bunks, so it is self centering on the lift. Also positioning is critical because of the weight of the engines and fuel tanks. As you can see by the photo the boat is quite far forward. You won't regret buying a lift just sure that it is heavy enough to lift the boat, fuel and gear.
    Good luck with the search
