Steering on Evinrude 235
Hello! I am new to this forum so thanks for letting me in👍🙂.
I am restoring an old (84 i think) Evinrude 235 for my 21' v hull speed boat, i got the engine up and running now and i have start to look for a steering system. According to Seastar i need the HC5348-3, is this the only ram that fits my engine? What about the HC5345-3?
I was really just curious of if there was any of you folks that where running the same engine, and what kind of steering you where using??

Its a V bottom, its called Gilbert 21.

HC5348-3 is designed for 1977-1990 OMC HC5345-3 is a general purpose designed for center consoles and fishing boats

Okay, i see, thanks. But is there any other good options to hydralic steering? What about dual rack and pinion? Anyone have experience with it?
