Mixed results here. Ran one on a bass boat for years after they rebuilt it under warranty one time. My dad bought one with cross threaded fill and drain plugs. Both were lowers were fixed free of charge

i have installed about 2 dozen of them on peoples boats over the past 10 years with 1 failure and it was broken out of the box and SEI sent a new one 2nd day air with a freight label to return the bad one and we think it was damaged in shipping as the box was pretty beat up when it got to me...the rest are all still out there running around...i would have no problem running one on my own boat

I bought a 225 efi about 10 years ago. The lower had been replaced with an sei unit. Installed it on my 200vt stratos and it lasted about an hour before snapping the propshaft and costing me an $800 prop. The did fix the lower, but I sold it right away. I think they are fine for normal use, but I would lot recommend them on any performance application
