I don't know what a Bravo 2 is and no you cannot run a Bravo 3 as a single. There are several variations of the Bravo 1. Standard Bravo 1, no vent holes and longer barrel. Bravo Fs, 4 vent holes and longer barrel. Bravo XS 8 vent holes and shorter flared barrel. Bravo OC, same as XS but even shorter barrel. On single outboards I really like the XS.

Another question; are the bravo blades the same across the board? I did notice in the models mentioned above that the barrels and venting look a lot different but the blades appear to be the same?

I believe blade shape is the same (not positive), but on the XS the blades are thinner than FS and Bravo I. I know on my boat a box stock XS 25" was a lot faster in the mid range than a 25" FS lab finished by FJ racing props, both did the same WOT.

Blade geometry looks the same to me between FS and XS, XS has thinner blades than the FS and I believe the XS and FS are slightly different geometry than the standard bravo........Call a good prop shop and ask them.

Bravo 2 is a bigass bravo sterndrive that uses a 16 to 17" prop. I know you don't have that, so I assume you have a bravo 1 prop. Never heard of a standard size prop labeled "bravo 2"

No vent holes is a standard Bravo I, 4 vent holes is a Bravo FS, 8 vent holes is a Bravo XS. There is also a bravo oc and a lt with 8 vent holes and even shorter barrels but those are pretty new props and rare to see.

    Not all true info here

Mercury Propellers makes a Bravo I

Mercury Racing makes a Pro Finish Bravo I FS, XS, LT, and XC. And they also make a straight Lab Finish Bravo I with no other mods, and the OC (also Lab Finish). FS and XS are the same prop, XS just has 4 more vent holes, both have the same blade geometry and shortened barrel. LT is the same as the FS but retains the full flared barrel.

Mercury says the FS and XS are the same prop. However, I have had both and the FS had noticably thicker blades, like a REV 4 as far as blade thickness goes, blade shape and geometry looks the same. The XS only comes pro finish and blades are relatively thin. Now, it's possible they offered the FS with standard thickness blades in the past, and now only offered in a pro finish. That I don't know, but I have pictures of the FS that I recently sold and the blades are twice as thick as my XS prop.

FS and XS are the same props, made from the same castings, neither are thinned out more than the other. Racing has never offered any "standard" finish, only Pro and Lab.

I sold my bravo to a buddy who wanted it bad. I think a 32 might have been a tall order for my 200 to turn anyways. I’ve just been hoarding up all the different prop types i can to try and see what i like best

I have a bravo XS on my 20' Bullet. We are comparing apple to oranges as far as the hull, but that is the best prop I have tried for hole shot and handling. Not quite as fast on top end as some others, but the rest is very good.
