I will probably be able to make it. Been prioritizing repair work to the house but I think it's at point now where I can leave it to attend. Looking forward to getting some pics and video.

We mAde it down and stopped to check on Tom.

He missed the window art in my earlier post so here it is again.

Then, Me and the Mrs had dinner on the shore line of the Suwannee.

As a PSA, and in case Tom hasn’t heard of this:

Had my tow pig aligned at a local, Chiefland shop and the guy saw the boat stickers on it and asked what we were doing.

When I told him, he warned me of the jumping Sturgeon!

There is a picture, at the ramp by Tom’s, of a 3 yr old girl (as a memorial) killed by one!
    Was his buddy’s daughter!

Said several people have died on the Suwannee from jumping sturgeon!

For those that don’t know, they can be 4’ - 5’ and 40 - 50 lbs or more.
You can imagine one hitting you in the head at 80+!

Said they have nasty scales too.

Told me the story of a fisherman having one jump in his boat and looked dead so he left it there.
Got back to the ramp to show it off and while holding it, it came back to life and went crazy.
He bear hugged it to get it under control and it’s scales tore the **** out of his chest!

Had heard similar stories up in Michigan but not this bad.

My 25’ Checkmate has enough freeboard to be way safer than you guys in your water rockets.

Used to carry a dive knife on board for fish nets that would work but don’t have it w/me this time.
Thinking wrap it w/a beach towel and throw it overboard?

    Be careful out there guys.

That being said, have been to several ramps and spent a fair amount of time on the shoreline in the last 48 hrs and haven’t seen a single fish jump!
I'd rather be competitive w/junk I built in my garage than win w/stuff I bought.
