LS Swap sidewinder
https://youtube.com/shorts/Y2ZDzcAefRg?feature=share
Hey guys I'm new to the boating scene I'm looking for some insight I have a 16 Ft. sidewinder I ls swapped it has a alpha drive on it with a shower I ran 73mph at 5500 rpm with a 4 blade 21p started to chime walk around 68mph from what I've read so far that I'm pushing the limits on the hull..... I've considered blueprinting the hull during the winter time but not so sure it would be worth it or try to find another hull to swap everything over to.... due to my lack of knowledge I'm hitting a wall to keep going with this hull or look for another hopefully a hull with a bravo drive since I'm already past my limits on the alpha drive.

Cool build, post some pics. With above its mostly outboards around here but i would also agree your past the limits of fun with that hull. A glastron carlson I/O would make a nice swap candidate. Heres a fast one

Yes I'm starting to realize that I'm in a weird category not a jet drive and not a big offshore boat and not a small outboard boat

I know a guy with a Canadian made Charger that had an I/O small block chevy. That thing ran hard, certainly scared the snot out of me back in the day

...part of the problem is the x-demension cannot be high enough for a standard sterndrive installation in any low freeboard hull, such as yours. need a deeper hull that will accomodate a much higher x & its thru-transom exhaust exits & its engine height under an engine hatch...

...now, with that being said...the alpha transom cutout on your installation is usable for a bravo transom plate. you buy a bravo transom plate & a short bravo sportmaster drive & your cook'n. a new higher pitch solid hub stainless prop will be needed. the external steering you should have, along with that, well...thats a different story...
