    225 Yamaha Excel race motor

Early 80’s Yamaha 2.6. Fingerported motor. Bored carbs, high compression heads, open exhaust. Small gearcase with low water pickup. Possibly more. Appears to be a race motor. Both heads are included and I do have a cowling as well. Don’t be afraid to ask for pics or more info.

Will ship on buyers dime and arrangement can palletize motor.

Looks to be horizontal in the pic but once on transom it would be vertical. Sorry, couldn't resist.

Didn't the Excel have that funky computer thingy where the ignition coils are on this engine?

My guess is that it would depend on the model year. My 175 has the coils like this one, and CD unit mounted on the right side of the powerhead.

YMIS engines have the computer on the back with coils mounted on sides of the computer bracket.
