Not a 2 Stroke or is it?
OMC made a rotary.
Not sure if this was one of the bad assed cars ever built, but I think so.
The long straight at around 4:24.. Holy sh!t He has to have a special seat to accommodate his balls!!!

I replaced a 2180 VW engine in my sand rail with a 13B rotary first with a street ported 48 weber then added nitrous and ended with a turbo setup back in the mid 90's. Super compact and I thought cool looking. 350hp and 350 torque in a 90" wheelbase Jonny's mid-engine high jumper. The rotary had a distinct idle and would scream on the big end

They are amazing... I've seen some claiming 1300hp. Always thought it would be a good match for a jet drive?

I call 'em 3 strokes. They have intake, compression, power & exhaust strokes - but.....no valves. Piston ported like a 2 stroke. Rotor (think piston) has 3 faces, & runs on a planetary at the eccentric shaft (think crankshaft). For every 1 shaft turn, you get 3 rotor revolutions/power strokes. So a 4 rotor gets 12 power strokes per shaft revolution. I worked for a Mazda dealership, fun/weird stuff back in the 80's & 90's. NSU/Wankel invented it, gave up & Mercedes tried, gave up. Mazda didn't/wouldn't give up. Made some horrible early stuff that wasn't reliable, finally sorted the engine oil consumption issues & made some interesting rotary cars & a truck. You thought stackers were loud? There's a reason IMSA made rotaries run mufflers. A rotary on open headers is just plain uncomfortable to be around!

There were some Wankle snowmobiles in the '70's... small, 20hp - 30hp engines: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=QFLL3_mtwa0

Ya wanna have fun? Get an old rwd Toyota Corolla or Datsun 510 & rotorise it. Use to be more than a few good builders putting out 600 - 800 hp bridge ported (yup, rotaries too) engines. Now add a turbo.......The engine/transmission package is very small & light, bet it would fit in a B210!

I remember the old Ad's saying " a piston engine goes bing bong bing and the Mazda go's Hummm "

I had a friend that had one... I think it was an RX3? I remember it would turn 7K or more. Fun car to drive... Not really that fast... But it was fun to spin the R's!
Had another friend that had one when I worked at the local truck stop. He would pull up under the breeze way, rev it up to the moon, cut if off, and then get out and walk away.... when it finally spooled down it would back fire and sound like a bomb went off... Can't believe it didn't blow the muffler off of it!!! It was hilarious!
Not scared of speed. I like the top end run starting about the 4 minute mark. I took my old '66 Stingray to 138, my old Z28 160+ and the 911 135... I would love to run a few laps in something like this..

If you like rotary's check out Rob Dahm's channel. He makes a lot of the parts himself and learns as he goes.
