Challenger 21 I/O 1977
1977 challenger 21 with Alpha one outdrive. Shafiroff 434 SBC Engine. This boat has been in our family since the 1980s. It is finally time to let someone else enjoy it. Very good condition, constant upgrades, maintenance, and use. We are getting older but the boat is still young. It has been in the Toms River NJ area for 40 years. Aluminum Slide on Tandem Axle trailer, Imco twin ram hydraulic steering, livorsi gauges, foot throttle and more. We want about $15,000. Please ask me for more info and pics if you or you know someone who would like a classic rare cool boat.

Hey there Too Many,
I’m pretty interested - would love to get a 3 way phone call started with my motor guy.
Would be great to see a few more pics particularly of the engine bay and motor in the mean time, and feel free to share whatever else you think might be a point of interest till we can get on the phone.
Also what’s the cruise speed at how many rpm’s?
Same for top speed and rpm’s?
not sure how to use the direct message on this forum but if you do you can do that or text me.
I’m only 1.5 hrs away so we can come look at it when you can make yourself available to show it.
Cool little boat man, would be happy to carry on the torch with this one.

I've been a little over 70mph with it and cruise around 40-50. There are lot of big fast boats in my area and they are really awesome but this boat draws a small crowd when people see it at the ramp or beach. The boat has the original gelcoat, there is nothing hidden under a coat of paint. The hull is in very good condition, the deck has some hairline cracks and a few dings. The dash has been rebuilt with new fiberglass and gelcoat with new gauges. The transom was rebuilt also.

What a cool time capsule!
I'd rather be competitive w/junk I built in my garage than win w/stuff I bought.
I refuse to allow common sense to interfere w/my boat buying decisions.

Does it need anything to be ready to drop in water and go boating?

The trailer could use 4 tires and the lights repaired. I live close to a ramp so haven't done that. The boat just needs Gas.
it doesn't need tires anymore, just got 4 new.Last edited by TooManyBoats77; 07-17-2022 at 08:18 PM.
