    Great footage.

Get ready for fuji to come along and tell us why this is really Mercury doing this.
I'd rather be competitive w/junk I built in my garage than win w/stuff I bought.

I refuse to allow common sense to interfere w/my boat buying decisions.

I especially like how they're not letting off the throttles when they go airborne, so the motors just scream. So awesome!

In today's world of 2022 -30 years later- its all about Safety & Insurance.

The wave/swell jumpers would have to be wearing helmets.
And Workers' Compensation Insurance would most surely come into play ... with drivers' back problems.
In 2022, I just don't see any boat manufacture or engine company doing this extreme testing with human drivers.

To throw some cold water on the workers issue, I have to relate an anecdote.
Back in the 1990's, I was interfacing with a lot of small business owners. One day on a routine visit this owner told me, he was moving his business out of California. Being I was surprised, he said the reason being, is because of Workman's Comp. I want go into all the details (for one I do not remember them all) but the expenses he was shelling out for Workman's Comp was draining.

Insurance in 2022 is one major factor, of what was done in 1992 will probably not fly (or Jump) in today's business environment. Having said that, in my youth, I would have liked to been out there jumping swells, with no care about the company's boat and engine.
