I have so many props to test on my viking when i finally finish it although no et and no drag but just about everything else. Et props are pricey and if they dont last? Kinda shying me off buying one but if a cut chopper can be made to hold together that is interesting enough to try. I only have one big ear its a 26

Is there any cutting templates available? I certainly wouldnt mind trying to do this at some point with the 26 or a 28+ when i find them

Nope. I'd buy something beat up then have it done. Probably do the whole deal for about 500 bucks. I got 850 in my real one after a recon and feel pretty good about the price overall.

I bought a Hill ET copy last winter and have been trying it out this week. Up to 80 it’s great. I need calm water to go faster. I struggle with Merc prop pricing

Suggestion, try running a 28 pitch Solas Rubex S3. It has great lift carry and will run speeds like a 30-31 pitch top end.

Close friend just gave me a Lightning ET 28 and a cleaver 28, not sure the make of the cleaver but it is stamped "Robertson 10" on the hub. Bennie?

I need to have the cleaver cleaned up, and don't expect it to run good on my Allison, but I have high hopes for the ET. Going to try it this weekend.

I assume you have a prop pitch gauge and cup gauge? You will need that in order to bang the cup in the prop after cutting it.

Nope and nope. The cup i can hammer in and make a small gauge so all ears would be the same. This is why i might farm out the first one, something to measure against. I only have two big ears at the moment. Might try the lipstick trick first see what the blades are doing

gotcha, Just make sure you have an acetylene torch as that will be your best friend with banging cup in from tip to the hub.
