For sale 1980 13ft 3inch Merten Bat Boat.

When I bought it the boat had a 35hp mercury short shaft with power tilt trim on it and a 15p prop ran about 40 mph.
I then converted it to lead acid 48vdc electric power Minnkota E-drive 5hp due to lake rules of no gas engines.
Then went to Navy 6.0 7hp 84 dvc lithium ion power.
Now running 1977 Johnson Stinger 15" short shaft 75hp motor.

Restored the hull & top cap, removed all the stringers & transom and the floor was cut out and replaced and added a new bronze drain last year.
installed all new marine grade mahogany stringers and new transom.
Reenforced the bow stainless steel eyelet and stern eyelets.
New flotation foam under new fuel cell in bow and under gunnels.
New red marine grade UV resistant glued in carpeting installed.
Comes with two single driver's seats and removable seat mount.
New auto bilge pump with manual override switch.
New custom mini-Bimini top and spare Bimini top in black and grey.
Full trailer storage cover blue.
It comes with a completely gone through 1977 Johnson Stinger 75hp 15 inch midsection with club foot lower 135 psi on all cylinders.
Original 15" mid section motor.
Not a cut down midsection.
New water pump with housing and fresh gears bearings shims hub drive shaft and prop shaft in gear case larger club foot installed currently on motor.
Has the club foot on it now as shown in the pictures.
I do have a new never run NOS OEM nitro gear case complete in primer needs to be shimmed and set up but complete from OMC training center.
And a second New OEM bare nitro gear case, new 15" drive shaft, used hub, used gears, used shift dog that come with as spares.
New red anodized steering wheel, billet aluminum steering hub adapter, Bay Star Pro hydraulic steering system, custom aluminum billet adapter for hydraulic steering system on a stinger race motor at rear, hot foot throttle, single lever shifter.
New Fiarria gauges including speedometer, tachometer, fuel & trim with Red anodized aluminum gauge bezels.
New MB Quart AM FM blue tooth stereo with separate amp, separate USB port in dash, under front deck Bose speakers and bazooka speakers under gunnels.
A separate new back lighted rocker switch panel mounted on drivers' side with voltage meter, USB charging port, bilge pump, navigation lights and stereo power.
New AGM battery, battery box with cover and strap. ABC fire extinguisher with mount, New automatic bilge pump.
It also comes with original trailer that was sand blasted primed and painted with all new bunks, bunk carpeting, wiring, springs ,1 7/8 hitch, wheels and tires, chains, tung jack, winch, winch strap and hook.
No propellers included.
But are available for extra cost depending on which one you want.
I am asking $5000 for boat motor and trailer and all spares.

John Merten but they are not being made any more only eight were ever made and only four are known to still exist today. They were made in the eighties.

update on this boat 9/22.
i used to own this boat!! 2 things, my trailer, and this boat does not have the strengthening support from the dash to the floor like all the rest have, a very early one. these boats were built by JIM merten jr, not his dad, starting in the 70's thru 1987. the original boat he got from sweden, he modified the transom and front deck. i also have another one of these boats now that i bought in 2011, ( your boat i got in 2014) my current one is the last one jim built in 1987, and is the lightest, and strongest, according to him. 15 were built. there are 6 known boats, with 4 being destroyed in racing accidents, the other 5 are out there somewhere. my boat has a 4 inch pad. (i'm going to widen it to 6") i like the flat pad. it would make the boat much more controllable.
like RACEMAN says, "have you ever tried to ski on a LOG"!!! doesn't work!!
UPDATE-UPDATE this boat (with the stinger) was sold to randy cook in wisconsin, i heard at tomahawk this year. JW.
