any Harley mechanics?
Brother-in-law has a 2014 Harley Trike and I cannot figure it out. Trying to hook up a trailer and what is happening makes no sense to me. Hook up to truck and lites work perfectly on trailer. Hook it to bike and left turn signal won't work. I have checked connections repeatedly and they are correct. We even took a new trailer lighting kit and hooked it up and had the same results. Any help or direction appreciated. Thanks

Yes I did. I checked for continuity thru the plug on the bike then ran wires to bypass the trailer lighting to no avail. He had the bike at the local Harley shop and was charged $300 for them to tell him the trailer was the problem. That is how we came to have a complete new in the box system to replace what is on the trailer. Trailer lighting is so simple anyone should be able to get it done. I have come to the conclusion the Harley requires something we do not know about. Five wires on the bike go into a 6 pin connector but only 4 of the pins are actually used and one of them should be the ground but is not. That is why I think the issue is on the bike. I have been riding Harleys for many years and do not work on them other than to change oil. I understand boat motors. Thanks for the suggestion.

Thinking motorcycle has separate turn signal and brake vs auto that has turns combined with brake. I could be blowing smoke, as I never messed with wiring up lights on a bike.

Randy
If the bike is factory wired and you have all but left turn as i read.
On all new trucks there are fuses for just the trailer lights.
This is if something shorts in the trailer it doesnt kill the truck lights like the old days.
On most they in the regular fuse box marked trailer tail left and right turn.
I have seen remote fuse boxs for this also. might look arond for a small fuse box.
Just an idea.
