Brake Pads - No More Copper Compounds?
You may want to stock up on the old style disc brake pads! Just had my brand new SUV in for an oil change and service guy said my brake pads were on the thin side. 20,000 miles? Really? What's the pad material? Cardboard?! WA state (and no doubt CA) have banned the use of copper compounds in brake material. Evidently, the new Chev Camaro could not be delivered to any WA dealer until the copper issue was sorted out. Part suppliers, dealers, service shops, etc can use old style disc brake pads until their inventories are depleted. Environmental? Don't think so! Price of copper has skyrocketed over the years! Anybody purchased electrical wire, copper pipe or fittings lately?

Wow!!!???
Great idea, especially if you a have duplicate vehicles like I do. 05 and 06 Dodge take the same brake pads. May as well have a spare set on hand.
I have a spare set for the 911, but I need to get at least one spare set for the Z28.
