The Southern Outlaw Dragboat Association will be hosting an event in Tavares, FL on June 11th & 12th. It's shaping up to be a great turnout, both the boat count and spectator numbers should be good.

If anyone is interested in supporting the event with a sponsorship, or interested in volunteering to help ensure this a smooth race please reach out. It's going to take a lot of support, as this is a first time event for the City of Tavares. The goal is to return to Tavares, FL annually, as it is really a great location with a lot of great restaurants, bars, and other things to do at the site downtown. The hotel is also located right at the race site, across from the ramp/lake.

Hopefully this event can help continue to grow outboard drag racing, due to it's prime/popular location it will a receive quite a bit of visibility. There were 13 first time racers at the last Lake Butler event in April. Hoping to bring out even more first timers and grow the sport!
