Well thanks a lot ( LOL ) - now I have Boston Whalers on my mind and tried to buy a 2001 13 footer in mint condition with a 25 Merc yesterday but we were number 2 so didn’t get it. Boat lift and trailer included for $10,000

LOL...I just got another 17' but its a sport (no rails). My 11' has a new 15" 40 four stroke that will be rigged after the new interior is installed. What a sickness-

Buyer Beware, recently read a piece on old Whalers , if they are not damaged to allow water into the foam inside , a good investment. but if they have had damage allowing water in, it's a turd. think of a waterlogged surfboard

    .

    I like this method

    1. Cut open Flooring skin exposing wet foam

    2. Remove foam

    3. Reglass back the Flooring skin from step 1

    4. Refill void with closed cell foam

A friend bought a heavy one. We drilled 10 or 12 holes in the liner and pulled a light vacuum on it for a couple of weeks (basically like a reverse infusion). We could see the moisture coming thru the clear tube and didn't stop until the point they were clear. Boat ended up being a great runner and we avoided the non-skid areas for easy repair and paint.

When I did whalers warranty work and we had a wet hull they had me drill at the Lowest points of the hull and drive cotton towels into them leaving some sticking out. Worked like a wick and would really dry the hull out.

This works good. However, most of the time we would just put bigger motors on them and let it rip!

been to the factory, saw their layup process. the foam they has use wood in the process, so you can drain the water out but the wood is still soaked , you do the math

That looks good. I was surprised considering how the outside looked.
