Do not buy from ringstad
Purchased a used starter from this guy a few months ago. Finally got a chance to pull the boat out and install it. It barely turns the motor over and sounds TERRIBLE. Ended up reinstalling my old starter to get on the water. Messaged him and got no response of course... Figured I'd pass this along so maybe he don't sell his junk to others.

Could be wrong but I don't think PayPal will side with the buyer if a lot of time has passed. No offense to op but the item should of been inspected upon receiving it not waiting months. In defense of the seller we all have shelves of items we clean out once in awhile maybe he didn't kno and a lot of ppl don't pay attention to PM's. Doesn't necessarily mean his intent was to deceive. Filed a claim with PayPal. They denied my claim because the starter was "altered" not sure how they came up with that??? The item was inspected upon receiving it for damages and obvious signs of abuse/failure but not installed/tested due to not having time and not using the boat this season yet.

Thanks for the alert but I have to ask, if your old starter works why did you buy another “used one”? I buy stuff all the time too just to have just in case. My guess is the seller hasn’t opened your message yet. Give it time.

Because my original would not engage the fly wheel sometimes. Had to bump the key several times then it would kick out an engage. He responded to the PayPal claim, he knows he sold me sh*t. Just wanna make sure he don't get y'all guys too
