Future of the New Gas Station
9 Teslas charging at a city east of Los Angeles.
And there are also more cars not in this photo.
My lady friend likes to come here periodically to eat at one of this mall's restaurant.
And every time I come here, I park near the Teslas.
It is an eye opener to me, the number of Teslas getting their charges.Whilst their owners are shopping.

What better way to use excess parking spaces, then make money from charging cars.
How many retail stores/malls have underutilized parking spaces except for the Christmas buying season.

I am paying a 30% increase on my power bill in the guise of a fuel tax... I wonder how that affects them?

And why do they all need a charge after driving to tbe mall? Either it's free/cheaper than charging at home or ???
Let's just go ahead and make America great again!

so an aspect that i think most people dont realize, FPL is dumping MILLIONS into switching out posts and cable across several counties. do we really think we arent going to see an increase in our bill so they can get a return on its investment?

It is just taking the opportunity to add charge. Different habit than operating a gasoline auto.
Sort of like how different people refuel, some run it down to empty and fill up, others fill up when they get to half tank and some buy just enough for that day. They are probably also running the AC
to keep the car cool.

Future "Gas" Stations - My Vision
Remember the gas station advertisements from the 1950s? It will be something like that. Pull in and an attendant or robot will greet you. Instead of "fill er up" it will be "battery packs?" In the time it takes to fill a tank with petrol, a robot arm will access a pull out tray on the vehicle exposing a quick change battery pack. Pack will be removed and replaced with a fully charged interchangeable pack. Just like propane bottle exchanges today. It will mean that all vehicle manufacturers will have to agree on the configuration of the battery pack. There's the catch!!

Tesla used to have transferable free supercharging on the S. I think it’s gone now for new cars. The 3 and Y never had free charging

I can see solar charging stations being a thing with electric cars. It will be necessary to keep the electric co.'s from price gouging owners of electric cars.
It would also be a way to use property in "unpopular" parts of a city in the day time.

"Because lithium’s concentration in ore at Thacker Pass runs as low as two-tenths of one percent, producing one ton of the stuff for use by society entails strip mining and processing as much as 500 tons of earth. Over a single year, producing 60,000 tons of lithium at the site could mean digging up as much as 20 to 30 million tons of earth, more than the annual amount of earth dug up to produce all coal output of all but seven or eight U.S. states."

"Large doses of lithium (up to 10 mg/L in serum) are given to patients with bipolar disorder. At 10 mg/L of blood, a person is mildly lithium poisoned. At 15 mg/L they experience confusion and speech impairment, and at 20 mg/L Li there is a risk of death."
