The guy flipped Waldera’s pride and joy and Waldera happens to be a super nice guy.
Highly doubt he called Waldera and said “Will you sell me your boat so I can flip it?” Waldera had several other guys that wanted it. He probably made up some story about how bad he wanted a Grandsport. Then he lied again and said he needed cash to buy land when he actually went and bought a STV.
He could have had a bit of honor and either sold it for what he paid for it ( if he found out he didn’t want it ) or he could have given / split the profit with Waldera.
Sounds like the guy lied and flipped a boat - not cool if I’m reading this right. Whatever - life goes on.

Again, I'm not a fan of flippers.
But is there a law that states you need to inform the seller of your intentions when you hand them the cash they wanted for the item you bought?
Why if I own something I bought, am I required to sell it for what I bought it for if someone else is willing to give me more money then that?
I'm sure when you decide to sell your home you'll sell it for the same you bought for right? I Mean, it's the honorable thing to do....

I have the boat. Yes, that's what the report said. The real numbers were this:
(2) 40% (1) 10%
(4) 20% (3) 5%
(6) 20% (5) 20%
The motor had 271 hours on it and I watched the leak down test being done. Twice. At least 4 times on #2. We pulled the heads and you could understand why it was 40% when you'd feel the ring groove in #2.
I took it to Dave Dreifort along with a new set of Wizard pistons. I'm close to Dave so he offered to drop it back on and do the first few hours of break-in with me. I get it, he wants to be sure it's done properly and doesn't become his problem if it isn't. But I appreciate that he would do this.
Hopefully I will have it back soon\\\/// \\\/// \\\/// \\\/// \\\/// \\\/// \\\/// \\\/// \\\/// \\\/// \\\/// \\\/// \\\/// \\\/// \\\/// \\\/// \\\/// \\\/// \\\///

Hey, I bought the boat. I drove it and didn't like it. I offered it back to the original owner for what had just paid for it, and sold it (if I remember right) for LESS then I paid. I obviously don't need to explain to you why I did what I did. What I would say is, you should know the whole story before you start calling someone names. I'll PM you my number....you can call me if you'd like so we talk like men and not internet tough guys.

dont know the story & dont care to.. However , I think its None of anyone's business if a guy buys a boat just to flip.. People do it with homes cars land etc etc etc every day ..

Everybody came out good on this I think. The seller got his ask, the person who bought it and sold it to me was happy. I am happy.
I figured that at 21 years old the 280 was gonna need a rebuild. I decided to buy a motor a little better suited to my needs. I live in a county where I run 20 miles in a 25 - 30 mph speed zone before I get to water (Lake George) where I can run fast. And then the lake may be rough if it's windy because it's a pretty big body of water. So consequently my boats rack up most of the hours below 3500 rpm. A race built 280 isn't the ideal motor for my application.
I have a sweet 225x that Dave Driefort built and I am almost ready to use the boat. When Dave dropped the power head on we took the boat to the water. The water pressure gauge wasn't working so we only put a half hour on the motor. He had already broken it in on his STV like so many others he's built.
So I took the water pick up speedometer system out and installed a GPS speedometer. And a water pressure and water temperature gauge. And a USB port with a built-in volt meter. And a new stereo with 4 speakers.
I bought a Drag 4 28p and a Hydromotive T4X in 28p to start figuring the boat out. Now I just need decent weather and a flat lake\\\/// \\\/// \\\/// \\\/// \\\/// \\\/// \\\/// \\\/// \\\/// \\\/// \\\/// \\\/// \\\/// \\\/// \\\/// \\\/// \\\/// \\\/// \\\///

Hey Mike....I texted you earlier today. Just wanted to chat a bit about the above comment you made. You obviously don't know me (you will get to know me now). If I was you, I'd be hoping everyone forgot about the comments you made here about me too! I am just seeing all these comments as I don't get on this page often (more on the S&F FB page).
As far as buying land, I DID buy land (not that it matters, or I owe anyone an explanation). As far as buying an STV (yea you Mike W.), I DID buy an STV too!
Mike Sufka....you'd better start making sense real quick....this is NOT how I handle stuff, call me, you've got my number.
And to Mike W, how about those leak down numbers?Last edited by flattracker60; 10-30-2022 at 01:02 PM.
