Sportmaster size, or fishin size. (wide passage CLE came with sporty size, all other CLEs had the fishin size)

My understanding was the early ones were the same as a standard 200 merc however with a mild steel shaft instead of the regular stainless steel shaft.... the later cle was basically sportmaster internals with the larger diameter propshaft where it runs through the bearing carrier.

    Anybody got a sportmaster shaft?

You are right. That small propshaft is hard to find. If you want to go to fatshaft you can get new propshafts. I got the driveshaft for you, but those are easy to find.

...converted dozens of brand-new standard 200 gearcases to new cle's cases, using the standard s.s. propshafts on multi-engine boats. no problems. now...if your racing with more h.p., etc., yeah, go with the better/best shaft you can find...
