24 Skater Engine WIDTH
Hi,
whats everyone running for engine width, i think stock is 49in center to center, i hear widening the stance is the way to go with 3.0 mercs with setback.
Thank you

I will have to measure mine... I think the issue is keeping the props out of the tunnel and letting air escape without hindrance. I am adding fences to close off the airflow at the tunnel to the transom to increase the rear pressure and keep the waterflow ahead of the gearcase to propeller clean as well. As far as i have found, with a 20" mid, bolting it to the transom at the #4 hole was best was best. I have toyed with the idea of going to 15" Todd-Mids but then to do that I have to add setback brackets which not only defeat the weight saving going from 20" mids but now it affects the handling of the boat by setting weight back. Both of my batteries have been moved from the back of the boat to the forward bulkhead, offset centerline to the left. I am running a full weight/balance sheet on this boat as I would in an aircraft so the handling of the hull should be neutral and flat. No stereo, no rear seats... no BS!! Just twins screaming like a nightmare after prom!!
