22 Velocity weight?
Hi I am building a 22 Velocity 1985 was I/O into a 300r Porta bracket outboard as a support boat. Yesterday we weighed the boat no interior, no motor or bracket only kplane transom mounts and capalano helm. The boat weighed 1750 lbs. What is normal weight for a 22? We are think weigh with interior engine etc will be 2700-3000lbs?
Thanks

...when new in 1985, they were advertised at 1,500 pounds. bare i/o boat or bare o/b boat, same...

I remember an ad stating 1411 lbs for a finished outboard hull. I’ll try to find it.

...i stand corrected... ...man, i can't believe its been 37 years...wow. this was the first velocity 22 piece of literature. "tabu" at the bottom , right corner, was the first boat (black gelcoat) out of the mold & multiple championship winner & record holder. challengers didn't cut the mustard...

I brought one back from Fla for a friend of mine a few years ago.
He restored the boat and redid the interior.
I can’t remember what it weighed in at before & after the work was done but I remember him telling me he lightened it by over 500 lbs.
‘The back seat alone was something like 120 lbs.
Ill let him know you’re looking for info….he might respond.

...musta been a real soaker to begin with, to then loose 500. so many boat owners in general, never cover & take care of they're interiors. they think they are "marine"...and can be exposed to the elements. nothing could be farthur from the truth...

I told him about the thread and to post about his findings.
‘In his case, if I recall correctly, there was some additional weight from being wet but it wasn’t to bad.
The hull was under 1000lbs when it was finished and when fully rigged with a 300X it sat very high…..the side of the hull with the “V” insignia was completely out of the water.

This one got composite stringers floor etc. The floor is thicker than I would have done 1" . The work seems ok. I rolled the boat over to straighten found some voids etc. I am pretty sure bottom is dry. Not sure on deck. I have good scales so confident weight is correct.
