Was just told 6-8 months which is much better than in the past. I wouldnt shame Merc, this is going on with all the outboard manufacturers. They can't get supply from materials and vendors to make motors fast. Also demand is higher than ever. I'd rather wait a bit longer for a motor than get one with rushed parts who's quality control may be sacrificed. Being married to a director of manufacturing for a large CPG company, I hear about this all the time. A couple kinks in the supply chain hurts. Get an order in. It will be worth it.

I just ordered a 300R (20", CMS, torquemaster, DTS) and the wait isn't too terrible, June production date, July delivery date. This compares to 54 weeks out for a new 300 Pro xs. Yes the wait sucks, but it isn't nearly as bad as what Mercury outboard, Yamaha, and Suzuki are quoting.

Isn't it amazing that we can't get people to work and there is more expendable income than ever ? Seems like a combination for disaster.

Yes. Labor shortages has also played a part in production. Even contract staffing agencies can't provide staffing in my area. Every company around me has lots of job postings of all types. BRP and Merc have more than ever. SC Johnson has entry level manufacturering jobs that pay more that what I made out of college and they can't find people. It's a unique time.
