    Shadow/Glassport floor help

I good buddy of mine picked up a 1993 Glassport VT200. He blew it up first time out with a cylinder #5 failure, but we have since rebuilt the FF 200 and its nice and broken in now. Someone has been into the transom and stringers and the boat runs well, but does have some soft spots in the main floor area. question is about the best way to remove the floor. Do you simply cut the floor out around the edges and out from under the small console? I'm sure someone in here has redone one of these, so I told him I would ask around to get the best solution. Thanks in advance and some pics of the rig.

Looks just like my 90 model Shadow. I did my whole floor, stringers, transom. It was a real bitch but it was doable. I separated the top from the bottom. You can follow my thread here. Bunches of pictures. Drop me a line if needed.

if there are just a few small areas, then you can use a circular saw with the blade set shallow or take your time with an oscillating tool and cut out the offending area.

I don't have that particular boat, but I do have a couple of bass boats. They look like a pain to do reconstructive surgery on. You probably got the right idea of cutting the attachment points of console, seat, and rod boxes. The trick will be getting the new floor in there. To really do it right you would probably have to take the top cap off. I was hoping RG would chime in

Forgot to mention...you will need to sign into BBC to be able to see the pics. If there are just a few small areas, I would do spot repairs. Popping the top on one of these is a bear because they did a very good job of glassing the upper to the lower from the inside. Maybe post a few pics for reference? The Glassport's may be different but my floor was only 3/8" or so thick.
