    Evinrude 300 G2 Etec Exhaust

    Hi

We are thinking about fitting Exhaust above the water line for our 2 G2 Evinrude from 2015. Any at the forum which have done this before.

    Thank you for all replys.

Every rig is different with engine height/start with prop shaft 1-in. Below the pad of the boat at a neutral trim angle/level with the boat.
If you have to much prop slip when boat planes out or to noisy for your liking drop it another in.
If steering the boat is to tight-when on plane-motor is to low.

I don't think to many people have done much with the g2s as far as performance goes, guys have put low water pickups on the gear cases and that's the most i have seen around here so far. It appears that it would be very easy to route the exhaust out the back since it has it's own tube and doesn't run thru the mid, but if that's all your going to do and stay on the stock rev limiter its not of much use other than sound cool or obnoxious depending on on the individual. A bad to the bone loud car going sideways makes the hair stand up on my arms, a stock turd camry or accord with no muffler just pisses me off...

Speed jr. Has/ had an older e tech that he had done a ton of work on, I believe it was over 7k rev. But I agree, the g2 is a whole nother animal, my 250 g2 was about 4 mph faster then my other 2012 ho, when I called Monty racing, he said I was looking around 40k to cut mid. And work powerhead, on the gen 1, prob stupid numbers to mess with a g2 imo.
And welcome to the s and f house

Would like to see that one, those are some big numbers that v8s with everything done have not made. I have a few blocks i would like to play with some day, open up the aux exhaust ports and case inject it.

The 74° motor has made crazy numbers on the dyno in house but who cares when it's not available to anyone. The G2 has a lot of features that are not performance oriented. I wouldn't put much effort to modify one with the stock electronics. It would be a better candidate to EFI and use a standard alone system. If you want it loud or to de-vent the prop you'd be better off just porting the gearcase above the cavitation plate and cap it off. My 2 cents.

Personally, I would have went for the three sled injectors , super duper wild tune , stock motor , 11,000 RPM , 1275 HP David Copperfield model ..

Twist deflection .. not so bad. Mopar's have no room for cam core diameter or very much lift, so you don't need to worry about the real problem ... up and down "bowing" between the cam bearings ...

Chaz = livin across the bridge from the old OMC test center .. still wunderin ... about the big power numbers from the "Gone Too" model ..
