I actually needed a 3 sided screwdriver to remove the sweeper mota. YES a 3 prong screw-driver. Well. Ya know that 112 piece bit set from the cheep tool store actually had the trim bit in there.
The Lockheed l1011 had tri wing fasteners , not sure if they are the same as the standard but the wings did not meet in the middle and the tightening face is shorter than the removal side so the thinking was it should always come out since you can get more removal torque than Installation torque...wrong lol. Some companies still use them. I am starting to see a lot of outside torx head bolts these days and not just small ones, I think they are trying to make everything where you get frustrated and take it to the dealer or throw it in the trash and buy new.

My go to, favorite 1/2” ( 12.7mm) ratchet…. LOL. It’s virtually indestructible. I used to actually use it in my early days not knowing it’s value. Its the very first snap on ratchet model. I would have fun with the on/off mechanics of it and hand It to someone who didn’t know how to reverse it.

The world compromised on spark plugs and tyre rim sizes so I guess socket accessories will last too

6.35 mm .. LMAO, hard to believe they actually went out of their way to "adapt" to our sizes.
If ya ever switch over to the dark side .. A 3.0L Murk comes apart with >>

    7/8 th's socket (flywheel)

    3/8 th's 12 point (rod bolts)

    Everything else is 1/2" or 5/16" .. err .. 13 or 8 mm ..

Ifin ya go "porkchop" .. ya might gotta borrow Gator's, Wentworth stuff .. or wait for them to give the fasteners an all-new system of measurement. No cause for alarm, can't buy manuals or parts .. so who needs tools ..

So Check this out...I have a set of 30+ year old Craftsman box end wrenches in both standard and metric that were made in JAPAN!!! They are very nice with perfect engraving, etc. I have some of the same wrenches that were made in USA that are honestly just not quite as nice. I had not seen craftsman made in Japan.

I started doing mechanical work in the early 60's on old Johnson pressure tank motors. Learned early on that "snug" was good into aluminum. But then in 1969 my first car was a '65 VW. Had to buy those weird Metric wrenches and sockets. Interestingly, my 1/2" drive ratchet handle was a Craftsman replacement given my Dad after he destroyed his but had already bought a new one. I bet this particular tool is number three in my ownership with the Craftsman warranty.
    Per Rock:

"Once I bought my first Hydrostream boating changed forever for me."

    Per my hero Instigator:

"I try not to let common sense interfere w/my boat buying decisions."

    More than likely ... not.

Cuz that would be one of them $10.00 specialty sockets ..

Ohh wait, my bad .. $40.00 dollar sockets ..

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I remember them Craftsman tools "made in Japan". Lots better than them tools made out of solder that came under the seat of Jap street bikes ..

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

3.0L Murk .. a not so well done OMC copy .. kind of like them Jap bike tool kits.
Stock .. They don't breathe well enough to need a limiter ..
I gotz parts to do a pair or 3642 cc powerheads. The Pan~man says go Mega-3 , The G-man is a dealer for Fuel-Tech and I kind of like the Hall-Tech stuff ..

    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hand tools .. I have to replace them every few years. I can't tell you how many people came up to me at the track with a hand full and asked .. Are these yours ? I found them in my trunk, under the hood, in the seat .. etc. i use~ta get mad, then I just figured it was better to amortize it into the cost of doing business ... and keep rollin ..

Which produce a "slopabout" thread engagement ...

Plug manufactures know their plugs are going to be used in many different length's as well as used in both , aluminum and iron heads. And removed / installed .. hot and cold, so they purposely make them undersize. (measure for yourself)

Hardware stores sell you a D7 (read the tap) which produces a nice wallered out hole right from go ..

Chaz = thinkin, a 14x1.25D1 is the correct "plug tap"
